Buddhist Treasuries of Knowledge
Khenpo Chödrak Tenphel Rinpoche
The Mahayanottaratantra
Shastra (Gyu Lama in Tibetan) is one of the five treatises
composed by Asanga under the influence of the Buddha Maitreya. It
is made up of five parts which expound seven main topics, the seven
Vajra Foundations : the buddha, dharma, sangha, buddha nature,
enlightenment, enlightened qualities and activities. The Gyu
Lama is regarded as the treatise that links the Sutrayana with
the Tantrayana, and has therefore a central role in the curriculum
of the Kagyü lineage.
For the fifth year, Khenpo Chödrag will base his explanation
on the commentary composed by Gö Lotsawa Shonu Pal. This year
we will reach the fifth vajra foundation, enlightenment.
