Khenpo Chödrak Tenphel Rinpoche
The Mahayanottaratantra
Shastra (Gyu Lama in Tibetan) is one of the five treatises
composed by Asanga under the influence of the Buddha Maitreya.
It is made up
of five parts which expound seven main topics, the seven Vajra Foundations
: the buddha, dharma, sangha, buddha nature, enlightenment, enlightened
qualities and activities. The Gyu Lama is regarded as the
treatise that links the Sutrayana with the Tantrayana, and has therefore
a central role in the curriculum of the Kagyü lineage.
For the seventh
year, Khenpo Chödrak will base his explanation on the commentary
composed by Gö Lotsawa Shönu Pal. We will end this year
the teachings of the sixth Vajra Foundation, enlightened qualities,
and will study the seventh, enlightened activities. Well also
go over the last part of the text, which set out the benefits of
studying this treatise.
Tibetan language
classes will also be offered to people interested.
