At the request of the community of Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, Mipham Rinpoche gave a teaching on the foundations of Dharma practice. Rinpoche explained about the refuge and the enlightened attitude.

« As a beginner, it is of no use to practise what is beyond our capacities. We have to start where we are. Otherwise it is like feeding a one-year-old child food for an adult. He wouldn't be able to digest it. If an individual of little capacity tries to practice the dharma of a moderate or advanced level, he won't obtain the fruit he hoped for. A beginner progresses very gradually on the path. On should not expect to be able to reach enlightenment immediately, in one go. The path is gradual . »
